Q 'ilnliuln N'wQ W L ---.....,,WM f.,,.l,i,,:, Miss Presson unexpectedly springs a pop test upon her history students. As we draw open the curtains and take a look at the social sciences at N.C.H.S., we find that the Social Stu- dies Dept. provides the state required courses, World History and U.S. History. For those who are financially minded or worried about the federal budget, Economics provides a study of the monetary system of our country. Teachers in this department strive to do more than furnish their pupils with the whols, where's, and when's. Inherent to the courses are the why's and howls of the events also. This added emphasis takes a date or a war from the pages of a history book and places it in the imagination of the reader. Thus, history is transformed into a Hlivingw thing rather than a dead study of the past.
