One,s placement in society may be decided by these practical applications. Our math department strives to provide an effective back- ground for every student. General math, consumer math, and business math are offered to students planning to enter a business school or seeking employment directly after gradu- ation from high school. The college-bound student may pick from Algebra I and Il, geometry, advanced algebra, trigonometry, and calculus. Math has progressed into a logical science. lt is the medium of expression used by all the sciences. Math is becoming more and more important in the quest for scientific knowledge. Mr. Angley seems to be amazed at the answer given by a geometry student. .f rf. 1 we-pw-W.. , , W M M 'MMM A ' full ,au-. One area is concerned with biological sciences, and the other deals with the concepts of the universe. Courses under those two categories include: Physical Science, Biology, Advanced Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Choice of emphasis in either area of this curriculum is left solely to the judgement of the individual student. However, it is the intention of the science department to offer such a varied and flexible schedule of scientific study that even those students who are not preparing for college will gain skills and understanding of the basic sciences. These skills will help the student develop feelings of secur- ity suitable to any phase oflife, and help him to grasp a deeper understanding of manis role in an everchanging technical world. Mr. Huss prepares his lab for his next class. ,,,,..,. V-: '
