If Mrs. Kelly spends many hours of her day checking school finances. Mrs. Carol Kelly, the school secretary. is another person without whom Northwest could not function. For all who pass through the front office, she holds a warm-hearted greeting. Mrs. Kelly keeps accurate business records, arranges and keeps track ofstudent schedules, and takes care of school finances. Mrs. Jane Smith, Northwest's sole guidance coun- selor, has gained the respect and admiration of the entire student body. She centers her concern on the student as an individual and the cast as a whole. With the assistance of college catalogs from the Guidance Department, Mrs. Smith helps plan for those Seniors with college in mind. For those who plan no further education following graduation, she urges them to take vocational or business courses to prepare for the vocation of their choice. Administering such tests as the P.S.A.T., N.E.T.D., and G.A.T.B. also falls under the responsibility of Mrs. Smith. She plans and directs Career Week, an annual event, emphasizing the importance of planning ahead for the future. Whether it be an academic or social problem, the Guidance Department is available to each and every student. Garmon, Playing a very important role, Mr. Garmon is dedicated to improving Northwest and he does a marvelous job keeping Northwest on a smooth-run- ning daily schedule. Mr. Garmon takes great interest in the extra-cur- ricular activities of the student body. He strongly approves of the D.E. and I.C.T. programs as well as the accomplishments of our Drama, Music, and Ath- letic Departments. He is proud ofthe Northwest cast and is glad to help and advise each student who needs his assistance. In the absence of Mr. Garmon, Mr. Boyce Caudle is ready to assume the role of director and all the responsibilities that go with the title. Along with his duties as co-director, Mr. Caudle also teaches, coaches, and Heads our Athletic Department. -alfa!
