Jr Trojans of 1970 are - Alton Caldwell, Robert Scott, Talmadge Brown Sammy Boger Tony Cline Cecil Powers Dale Pryor Tim Brant Denny McAnulty, Gary Marshall, Wayne Benson, Russ Hartsell, and Kirby Patterson ozffiwsaf KV I Un Confsuncs Mr. Angley, using his techniques and great lead- ership, guided his hardworking boys to an 11-6 overall season. As a result of this winning record, the Baby Trojans were invited to a district Tour- nament in Anson County. Seeing a great deal of action for the Jr. Trojans were: Alton Caldwell, guard, Russ Hartsell, guard, Cecil Powers, forward, Tony Cline, forward, Sam- my Boger, center, Dale Pryor, guardg and Robert Scott, guard. Through their hard work and fine sports- manship on the Junior Varsity team, these boys have received valuable experience and they will be an asset for the future varsity team.

Marshall, M. Benson, E. Roscoe, R. Hurlocker, S. Lawing, and J. Holcomb. 5 , 2 Mr. Edwards returns to coach his second NCHS baseball team. 228 The 1969 Trojan Baseball Team did an outstanding job with last year's schedule. They received 8 wins and 8 losses to end the season with a .500 average. During the season North- west came up with two big up-sets by defeating Kannapolis by a score of 12-4, and Concord, by a score of 7-2. The pitching was led by George Marshall and Eddie Roscoe. Both of these boys will be returning in hopes of making this coming season the biggest and the best. Coach Bernie Edwards has done an outstanding job coaching these boys. A coach such as he makes any player proud to be on the team. Returning from last year's team will be Russ Hartsell, Rick Wilkerson, George Marshall, Alton Caldwell, Eddie Roscoe, Myrl Benson, Barry Troutman, Ronald Hurlocker, Steve Lawing, Joe Compton, Rick Sloop, and Mike Glass. We are sure these boys will bring home victories and maybe even a trophy.
