After coming out on top in the first two games over North Stanly and Sun Valley, the girls went into a four game losing streak, falling to South Stanly, Mt. Pleasant, North Stanly, and Central. The never-say-diew Trojans stayed in there all the Way, making the games exciting. Members of this club were outstanding, not because they won, but because their Trojan spirit could not be stifled. Team members were Steve P Lawing, Eddie Roscoe, Phil Smith, Larry Parker, Strick Dalton, and Steve Ertzberger, seniors, and Terry Caudle, Barry Troutman, Andy Price, David Chambers, Eugene Kellis, and Jerome Allen. There was no true first string since all the the boys were capable. Most outstanding was senior Phil Smith Who led the team in scoring and also in rebounding. The conference season ended With a record of 2-16, but this record does not reveal all of the hard Work and Trojan effort these boys put into their games.
