2 f 5 5, J -ix-1'l:Q.'5.r- .... ,, .. . fads: Uzoy 1029 obtains Uzokzf-lisa Striving hard to better a reputation of 3 consecutive years, the Northwest Cabarrus Ladies of Troy entered the race for the Rocky River Conference championship. Laden with determinationto keep up the pace, they soon found themselves with their first ten straight conference wins. Then, unexpectedly the Trojanettes met their match as a determined bunch of Piedmont lassies stunned the Trojanettes by a five point margin. Hustle Hustle seemed to be the name of the game as the Ladies of Troy', captured their next six wins which kept them on top of the standings with a 16-1 record. Then, traveling to Forest Hills to try and keep their first place seating, the Trojanettes met their final defeat of the season. Their final game with Monroe proved to be as successful as their first ten. With a 16-2 record the Northwest Cabarrus Ladies of Troy', were named 1970 Co-Champions. As the Rocky River Conference Tournament began the 6'Ladies of Troy', grabbed their first tournament win from the Mt. Pleasant Tigerettes by a 10 point margin. Later in the week the competition became greater as the Trojanettes came face to face with the determined Central Cabarrus Vikings. Trailing the first three periods of the game, the Trojanettes splunged in the fourth quarter to come out on top by two points, To wind the week up, the championship game between the Forest Hills Jackets and the Northwest Trojans proved to be a big one. Although behind the first three periods of the game, the Trojanettes never lost faith. Coming back early in the fourth quarter to tie the game, the determined girls never fell behind again. The three point victory gave the Trojanettes the Rocky River Conference Tournament title of 1970.
