The purpose of the club is to develop future leaders for marketing and distribution. The Northwest D.E.C.A. enters contests on the district level in categories such as job interviews, sales demonstrations, public speak- ing and advertising. The club participates in many projects during the year including a fund raising project, helping in the planning and execution of career week, a follow-up survey ofD.E. graduates, and a creative marketing project. Outstanding D.E.C.A. club members receive awards such as D.E.C.A. Sweetheart and student of the year. Each day the bus drivers at Northwest transports some 650 Trojans and almost 3,000 junior Trojans to the feeder schools of Northwest. Transporting passengers to school is only one of the many responsibilities bestowed .,9 '3-xii p upon the thirty-four drivers. They are also responsible for the cleanli- ' VQ ness ofthe buses, as well as the passengers' safety and welfare. HwrnAA,,,,,ae MH' 5 ,I itll .. . .... ,ta ECU The Industrial Cooperative Training Program gives students the oppor- tunity to work under supervision in the occupational area of their choice, and to prepare themselves for full-time employment. Through the supervision of Mr. Clifford Rimer, various projects have been undertaken by the VICA club in the past year. Activities sponsored by the fifty-two member club include a candy sale, state and regional leadership Workshops, and an employer-employee banquet. On-the-job training, received by the I.C.T. students, has enabled the students to obtain the experience required in the world of work. During the last school year the members of the VICA club earned over S50,000. Mr. Garmon accepts a check to aid in the building of the field house from ICT President, Ronnie Bennick. U y .
