For the past three years, Le Cercle Francais of Northwest Cabarrus High School has ranked among the schoolls most active clubs. lts aims are to establish a better understanding of the French people, their customs, and ideas. Each student enrolled in the club is required to maintain at least an average of 80 or above in French. Throughout the year, the French Club sponsors various projects such as the Mumified Mama-Petrified Papa contest, and the Mardi Gras, which is one ofthe highlights ofthe year at Northwest. This year the club purchased French flags and a French Bible for the use ofthe French department. Through the leadership of Mrs. Brenda Furr and Mrs. Cynthia Petrea, the French Club members have become better acquainted with France.

The Math Club's monthly meetings often featured guest speakers who were informative and helpful in encouraging members to consider careers in the field of mathematics. The Math Club's annual talent show, in which both groups and individuals throughout the area participated, was its main project for the year.
