'mv few , 1 f f Connie straightens her books as she begins preparing for another typing lesson When Northwest opened in the fall for the 1970 school term, Edith Consuelo Suarez, an exchange student from Bogota, Colum- bia, was here to meet the challenges of an American school with enthusiasm and vigor. She lived and learned the American way oflife with her American family Mr. and Mrs. V. C. Smith and their family. Connie's main purposes were to learn more about the North American way of life and to understand and speak better English. Wanting to explore as many phases of our school life as possible, she carried a full schedule. Speech and Dramatics, English 105, Ad- vanced Biology, Annual, Typing and U.S. History kept her busy for the four short months that she was a part of us. Connieis final day at Northwest was December nineteenth. She left America on January 5, 1970 to begin the trip home and to resume her studies at the University of Bogota where she is majoring in bacteriology. As she left our school and our country, We all could say that Connie was truly one ofus. and even though she spent only a short time at NCHS, she left a memory that can never be forgotten by any Trojan that knew her.
