Mustangs Make a Pass at Victory This year ' s men ' s varsity soccer team, under coach Dave Yezback, achieved high marks in a district which yielded the 1986 state cham- pions, Livonia Stevenson. The JVfustang kickers finished the season with a 8-7-2 record, advanced to the second round of the regional p]ay- offs, and fell to Livonia Stevenson in a 4-0 struggle. Captain Dan Magdich received all conference honors whiJe captains iCen Kossak, Nick Morris and Doug Ayers were elected to the aJI-division second team. Nick Morris concentrates on the field. Women ' s Tennis Serves with Style The NorthviJle High School women ' s varsity tennis team excelJed this season. Losing one match to North Farmington and tying one with Churchhiil, NHS players efortJessiy de- feated all other opponents. Leslie Oliver gave a stupendous performance, undefeated in league play and winning both conference and regionals. Also winning regionals and divi- sion conference were Lori Nance and Julie Millgard. Abby Edwards won division and came in as a runner-up for the regionals. Composed of such skillful players, the women ' s tennis team gave Northville High a season to he re- membered. TT Swimmers Glide On NorthviJJe High has always sported first class swimming (eams, and this year was no exception. The women ' s team, coached by JVfr. BiJJ Dicks, tied the division meet with Churchill and effortlessly won the rest. The relay team ofShari Thomp- son, Sue Setties, Debbie BueJI, and MicheiJe Stephens qualified for the state finals with their winning per- formance. Debbie Buell also reached state in her individual events. NHS divers, coached by Dr. Cecil Woodruff, also had a successful season.
