No ProbJem The 1987 Palladium staff pJunged into compiling the yearbook with one of the largest staj s ever. FinaJJy situated in tlieir own permanent room, tlie staff could effec- tively organize and produce their book. Under the direction of faithful sponsors Ms. Mary CuJik and Mr. Bob Shorrar, the NHS staff converted yearbook copy production to Typevision, a time-saving method of typing all headlines, captions, and body copy on computer. The Palladium staff also did much 0 their own photography and printing this year. Anne Grijifith, as weJJ as editors-in-chie Kara Goscinski and Jennifer Hansen, spent many Jate nights finishing layouts long after the staff left for home. Without the motiva- tion of this elite group, the Palladium staff would have never been able to promptly make their deadlines or produce such a high quality yearbook. Exchange Students Experience Northville Two students at NorthviJJe High School are spending an exchange year learning more about themselves by studying otner people. Josef Rohotka, from Germany, says it is popular in his country to go to America for a year as he is present- ly doing. Josef finds our school system easier than that of his home town because he has fewer courses to study at one time. What Josef admires most about America are American cars, especially the limousines. Josef ad- mires the family-oriented environment of Northville. Paloma Monteverde comes to Northville from Spain. She lives in a small town near Madrid that is much like Northville. Paloma tells us that she likes the people of the United States, finding them to be very friendly and interested in foreigners Tike herself. Paloma feels that Americans live well, enjoy life, and just like to have fun. Upper left: Josef Robotka loves America this much! Honor Society Expands Membership The National Honor Society is a highly acclaimed organiza- tion. A minimum grade point average of 3.5 is required to become a member of this rapidly growing program. In addition to scholarly achievements, members must have a record of community volunteer work and display leadership abilities. Students participating in the Honor Society work diligently to raise money for scholarships that are offered annually to graduating seniors. Fundraisers, including the stocking sale, the entertainment book sale, and several lower sales, unfail- ingly provide assistance to this worthy cause. The yearly canned food drive is just one of the several community ac- tivities put together by the Honor Society sponsored by Ms. Sera a-Manschot and Mrs. Williams.
