With the IMC open at Junchtime and one hour be ore and after school, the possibihties for student use are endJess. Tuesdays and Thursdays are devoted to games, while students may use the computers for educational puposes throughout the week. Although word processing is not avaiJabJe, the IMC loans educational disks and computer manuals to students. Be sure to be a part of the IMC gold rush and cash in on this valuable resource! Students Tune In To Trends High school students have always initiated fads and fashions, and those attending NHS are far from an exception. From punk to prep- py, the halls are a showplace for the current trends. Hairstyles are cut, shaved, dyed, moussed, and sprayed into statements reflec- ting the attitudes of today ' s youth. Banana combs were a popular addition, while ban- danas and scarves made their comeback on the fashion scene. Trench coats and ringe also made a seasonal appearance this winter, giv- ing way to bleached jeans and sandals in spring. Footwear accented outfits with leather hightops and metallic-colored loafers, while gaudy jewelry and belts balanced them out. Creativity was the key for fashions this year. When considering the high standards of Paris and New York in this field, one cannot help but feel Northville High is not far behind. Eric Edwards proudly exhibits his spiky locks, but Rich Smith has his own opinions. Northville ' s cafeteria caters to everyone ' s personal taste. FADS AND FASHIONS 51

IW Students Aid NHS Faculty Northville High School prides itself on a well- run and polished system. The smoothness of this system, however, is not due entirely to the efforts of the staff and teachers. JVfuch credit should be given to student volunteers. Students who have completed the required courses and cannot find a suitable elective often opt to be a student aide. Student aides perform many necessary tasks that require extensive time and patience. Correcting papers, running errands and enter- ing scores into computers make up the core of an aide ' s daily duties. In addition to teacher aides, student volunteers are also needed in the office and library. Morning announcements and daily attendance forms are dependent upon such volunteers. In the library, students keep books in order and help locate information. As a school volunteer, students gain valuable experiences in the teaching field and learn how to relate well with people.
