Northview's pep band consisted of some twenty-five marching band members who were willing to spend their time promot- ing spirit at away football games and According to band director Doug Camp- the difference between marching bell, band and pep band was discipline. Being on a volunteer basis, with no competi- tions, there was no reason for the pep band to be strict. Mr. Campbell stated that for this reason he liked placing the direction of the pep band under the con- trol of Drum Major Glenn McWherter. lt was a great opportunity for Glenn to gain leadership experience. After spending many hours practicing with the marching band, the pep band members were left with little time to prac- tice. Through the dedication of the large tur- nouts of pep band members at football and basketball games, the respect and sup- port they needed from the student body and pep units was gained. .N- Performing with enthusiam John Bagwell and Jeff Spangler play theme song from t'Rocky.
