Vicki Viking boogies with the beat of the cheer. . 0 Vicki Viking, Bunny VanOnse1en, had a very inspiring year, spreading enthusiasm within Northview. As mascot, Bunny's job was to spread spirit and participa- tion at the rallies, games, and student body. Spirit is pride, vith everyone joining together to have a lot of fun, states Bun- hy. Bunny as Vicki Viking, enjoys working by herself and doing hings her way. But she also likes spending time with the rest of he Pep Unit. Having an outgoing personality, to make the crowd want to Eheer along with the rest of the Pep Unit, was a big part of unny's responsibilities. - Majorettes Meg Miller, Vicki McWian and Tammy Noe pose with batons The three very energetic majorettes include Vicki McWain, Tammy Noe, and Meg Miller. While attending Camp of Champs in Long Beach these girls learned a variety of routine styles including show, hoop baton, two baton, and fire baton routines. Vicki, Meg, and Tammy entered several competitions throughout the course of the year. Among these were the Escon- dido, Azusa, and Glendora contests, in all of which they re- ceived first place. The Majorettes performed along with the band and drill team during half time at home football games and occasionally at rallies and home basketball games. QQWXS Sheer for lvlmdlerellass Before attending summer camp a' Pepperdine University, this year's J .V cheerleaders concentrated on practicing six days a week. These practices begar at 6:00 A.M. and lasted five hours eacl day. At camp, the girls learned basic anc advanced skills, jumps, pyramids, skits cheers, chants, and tumbling. Durin their stay, they were selected as 6'Mos Spirited two days in a row. In the Fall, the J.V.'s cheered fo. the sophomores, and many times, the freshman and J .V. football teams Throughout basketball season these girls cheered for the J .V. basketbal' team and as often as possible, the fired up the frosh and soph teams wit enthusiasm.
