Steve Beckley did an ex- cellent job in training and readying the Frosh for their games. This year was Mr. Beckley's first year coaching at NVHS. He was assisted by Tim Alley who is an alumnus of Northview's football team. As they worked with the freshmen, many of the players proved to be very capable. Tim Carrico and Ken Rogers showed great strength as the season went on. Their record of 4-5 placed them in 3rd over all in the Montview League. Next year should be a very successful year with these fine athletes making a strong Sophomore team. S S 8 The Sophomores experienced a trying and disappointing season which ended with a 0-9 record. Even though they had no wins, the team still fought on with great determination. Despite their rec- ord, the team showed fine ability with Dean Day and Doug La Valley standing out on both offense and defense, and jim Esser and Dan Balazs alternating as quarterback. In his first year of coaching, Rick Wilkes led the Soph's through many hard practices and games. Bill Mann, who assisted Coach Wilkes, helped in training and pre- paring the team. With a little more practice and experience, the Soph- omores should develop into fine varsity players.
