Learning and appreciating our Mexican heritage was the main purpose behind our club. We took field trips to museums and learned much about our history. Selling Pan Dulce, Mexican sweet bread, turned out to be a real success. It was so popular that no sooner had we brought out a batch than it disappeared. We raised a lot of money selling Pan Dulce and it certainly helped to finance our field trips. We found our club to be very meaning- ful to us this year. It helped us to under- stand that being proud of our heritage is so important and that we should learn as much about it as we can. A W wow! Some of the questions you guys come with. I just swallowed my gum. Did I hear what l thought I heard? lnvolvement179

eleff dwellers lndustrious - that's US! By raisin funds for the choral department we were abqe to bring about some long awaited and exciting activities. How did we do it? Selling all kinds of stationary, almost everyone's favorite - yummy licorice and tickets to our ham give-a-way in which some lucky duck won a ten pounder! Instead of running off with all that money, we decided to do something clever .. . like spon- soring the good ole Sadie Hawkins dance. We were also in on a soc-hop and most important, the choral department's San Francisco tour. On the local scene, we helped the choirs sell tickets to their annual Christmas and Spring concerts. As you can see we had a very busy year, but we enjoyed every bit of it. We know music is important and helping to make it possible here at Northview is ourjob. Because anyone could join, we were a mixture of basketball players, basketball statisticians, and many of us just plain basketball lovers!! Donkey basketball, an all-time favorite here at Northview, was again sponsored by US! Donkey Basketball???? Well, it was riding a donkey and playing basketball-at the same time! lt wasn't as difficult as it sounds. If he lost the ball, he had to push or pull the donkey - which was easier said than done - over to the ball so the game could start again. Since this was our biggest fund raising event, we put a lot of hard work into it and got a lot of satisfaction know- ing that we did something more to ro- mote interest in a great sport - basketball! !Pres.l, D.Robinson, Row-3 R,Scott, P.Tams, D.Alley, T.Cunniff, C.Carmack, L.
