reflectio s As the sun filtered through the clustered trees everythin glistened - it was the beginning of another jay in the creation of Northview's RE- FLECTIONS. It seemed that each new day inspired us to write something special. Whether it was a poem, a story, or just a pencil sketch, everything was exciting because it was all going into the RE- FLECTIONS MAGAZINE. Even though REFLEC- TIONS MAGAZINE implies that only club mem- bers contributed, many other students also do- nated their works of art to make the magazine more complete. Because the REELECTIONS MAGAZINE was a big and costly project, we had a few fund-raising activities. We sold everyone's favorite, tender, tempting, morsels of red licorice, and Viking autograph books which came in handy at the end of the year. We feel that as long as any form of art exists there should always be something that can bring it closer to the people, and that's why our work is so important to us! lie clb As a service club, we try to understand and meet the needs of other people in and out of our community. This past year, we helped raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Drive, and participated in the California Walk for Health, At Christmas time, we got together gifts which brought smiles to our Senior Citizens and to the children who benefited from our contributions to the Marine- sponsored Toys for Tots campaign. The third annual Governors' Gala - a big event for us - was held at Busch Gardens. It was a formal dinner - dance held in honor of Michael Lucia, the international Governor of Key Clubs, for his outstanding service throughout the year. This year was great for us. We had fun as a club and learned more-that it is PEOPLE who really count! pe oem Hers You can't sell it, it's not free, it doesn't come easy it's peace, THE most important word to the Northview Peacemakers. Whenever problems arose, we called a meeting as soon as possible. Since we didn't feel a presi- dent was necessary, meetings were more of a discussion with everyone making his own contri- butions. Our members were a cross-section of students chosen by peers. We attended meetings and took back accurate information concerning our friends so harmony could be established between everyone on campus. Discussion about the im- portance or unimportance of rules and regu- lations was also brought out in the open. Peace is a word that isn't very often exercised and that's why our organization was a step in the right direction. 'I72 Involvement Row-'I Mrs. L. lhalltl As members of the Valhalla staff we have always played an important part in keeping everyone informed about campus news. This year we made a few Changes in the Valhallag for the better we hope. The former Would you Be- lieve is now Newsbites and we added the Viking Superstar to the paper. Along with Thumbs,'f Vi- king Forum and others we kept everyone aware of sports, up-com- ing events, and, naturally, a lot of juicy gossip! Through a joint effort we Came out with a great newspaper! lsthrsanAoraZ? Asst Editor Don Hanson Page Editors: R.Smith, P.Ahrens, and D.Cox. arethefacts so getthem straight VH'hH a171
