The junior boy chosen last year to represent Northview was Dave Escobedo. Boys' State is sponsored by the American Legion. Its purpose is to give boys an opportunity to com- pare their ideas on the United States governmental system. As a result, Dave went to classes where he learned about our government and holding elections. In addition to this, the boys learned more by dividing into parties, attending party meetings, and holding elections. In one of these elections Dave was elect- ed city treasurer. Attending Boys' State gave him a better under- standing of his government and of how problems develop and how they could be avoided. X Boys' State
