, Childhood High School We, the staff of the 1961 Viking Yearbook respectfully dedicate this book to Mr. Wilbur F. Otto, the first principal of Northview High School. Mr. Otto was born in Modesto, California. After grad-u- ating from Downey High School, where he was elected Student Body President, he attended Pomona College for one year andlthen transferred to Cal Poly at San Luis Obispo. He then attended the University of California at Davis where he received his B.A. degree. Mr. Otto re- cently was awarded his M.A. degree in Administration from Los Angeles State College. With most of his necessary schooling behind him there came another important step in Mr. Otto's life. He en- listed in the Navy for four years and served as a lieuten- ant. He is married to Lois Beverly Haueter and they have four children. Before coming to Northview, Mr. Otto was a teacher of agriculture and in 1954 was appointed Vice- Principal at Covina High School. Good fortune has been with Mr. Otto through' his Mile- stones of Youth and now the good fortune is ours in having a principal with a friendly smile, ci pleasing per- sonality, a sense of humor, and who always has helpful advice for teachers and students alike. lt is with great admiration and appreciation that we dedicate this 1961 Yearbook.
