Juvenile Delinquency Is Growing in Our Society By ANNE HOLDEN Are you tired of hearing W'hat's wrong with today's younger generation? or What is going to happen to the young people of today? If you fall into the category referred to as the teen-ager, it is likely that you have had to listen to these questions many times, disgustedly asked by one who does not come under the heading of a teen-agar. The term teen-ager applies to anyone from the ages of 13 through 19. The word is inevitably connected with accounts of juv- enile crime, and has become a handy indictment rather than a loosly descriptive term for young people in that age group. There are about Mtg million teen-agers in the United States. Less than half, or about 'Hi million, are in high f , f school: of the rest, most have full-time jobs, -4 ...,,...,. t - .. 4.-H A A 'fw , 'fsizw ' , Ex' 1 Amar: - :1-- - some are in college. It is too easy for an adult to say, There wasn't so much dc- linquency in my day!
