Kyle Fitzgerald, Pres., and Gary Foble, Treasl Languages Challenge Many inth-Graders The second year at Northside brought with it a tremendous joy in no longer being lowest in class rank and also the challenge of more difficult courses. Ninth grade science broad- ened horizons and tested mental reasoning as freshmen were confronted with one semes- ter of chemistry and one of physics. Many freshmen also encountered language courses and algebra. Freshman and junior varsity sports, club work, school publications, the most in fads, classwork, and hops filled the conversation of these students in the halls, in classrooms, and at the lunch table. As the year progressed the ninth graders became an integral part of Northside, partic- ipating actively for the first time.
