Spikers Foll Northside lost to eventual state champ Fort Wayne Harding in the semi-finals at Ball State 11-2, 11-7 in the Indiana Volleyball Coaches Association state tourney Saturday, April 19. Coach Terry Hitchcock sent all three of his teams to quarterfinals. Two advanced to the semi-finals where both teams were eliminated. The varsity had two seniors, Phil lsenbarger and Curt Watson. The rest of the team consisted of Kevin Ford, Jeff Walser, Joe Anderson, Steve Allen, Stewart Hults, and Bob Russel. VARSITY VOLLEYBALL ROW ONE: Bob Russel, Stewart Hults, Curt Watson. Shippy Breoiks Record, Shoots 6 GOLF ROW ONE: Tim Koontz, Rob Foster, Mike Smekens, Matt Tucco. ROW TWO: Coach Jerry Griffey, Tim Daly, Lindsay Stelzer, Jeff Meunier, David Barnes, Daren Shippy. Lindsay Stelzer fright! and David Barnes search for a lost ball in the lake at the Elks. Sophomore Tim Daly eyes the putt all the way to the cup. A Junior Daren Shippy set a school record with a 69 on 18 holes and was the Olympic conference medalist. Coach Jerry Griffey will lose two seniors, Lindsay Stelzer and Jeff Meunier, from a team that compiled a 6-5 record. In the city meet, the Titans finished second with 332 and placed fourth in the conference. Spirit!!! It took only a walk down the hallway to see that Titan pride was alive. That spirit was shown in the hundreds of posters created by the cheerleaders throughout the year. Cooperation between varsity, reserve, and freshman cheerleaders made their year a great success. With the help of their sponsor, lVlrs.
