Maves Captures Sectional, Regional, This year's cross country team finished the season 6-1. Senior Scott Maves captured the sectional and regional and was the team's captain and most valuable runner. An injury to Scott's younger brother, Steve, was a blow to the team, but Steve Edwards' crew lost only their opening meet to Madison Heights. VARSITY JR. Titons Coptu-re Olympic Conference North's varsity roundballers end- ed the season Olympic conference champions with an 18-3 record. The Titans bowed out to Yorktown in the sectional 61-60. Academic all-stater Phil lsen- barger received a trophy for most rebounds, co-captain and co-MVP at the winter sports banquet. Eric Eckelman also received a trophy for co-captain and co-MVP. Eckelman was also named to the honorable mention list to academic all-state. Junior guard Kim King walked off with two other awards, best free throw percentage and most assists. North captured the Holiday tourney by beating Jay County in the opener and a scrappy Benton Cen- tral' team in the final game. The legalization of the dunk shot added a new dimension to this season and the Titan fans were ex- cited by an occasional slam by two North big men, Eric Eckelman and Phil lsenbarger.
