ROW TWO: Steve Sickles, James Crocket, Jim Adams, Marvin Ashby, Brad Barker, Chad Harrell, Marc Hoffman, Cliff Stooky, Tom Pollock, Tom Connors, Greg Foxx. ROW THREE: Coach Tom Crowe, Greg Taylor, Tim Lyon, John Barlow, Jim Hayes, Jeff McShirIey, Brad Sry, Brian Smith, Robert Anderson, Marc Longworth, Tracy Bickel, Coach Jim Metzler. Freshman quarterback Greg Taylor fights for some well earned yardage against cross-town rival Muncie Southside. The junior varsity and freshman football teams finished with identical 4-3 records. These two teams show talent and should be tough in future years as varsity material. The outstanding defensive back for the JV team was Steve Guter- muth: the outstanding offensive back, Dave Duersong the outstanding defensive lineman, Ed Humphrey: the outstanding offensive lineman, Jon McEwin. The outstanding defensive back for the freshmen was Tim Hill, the outstanding offensive back, Greg Taylor: the outstanding defensive lineman, Tim Hill: the outstanding offensive lineman, Steve Sickles. VARSITY TENNIS ROW ONE: Bruce Shepard, Paul Hamori, Tyrone Cecil, John Ringoen. ROW TWO: Coach Curt Ervin, Phil lsenbarger, Ed I . O'Korn, Doug Harris. O I n S Co-captain Bruce Shepard volleys a backhand. Shepard and junior Doug Harris teamed up to win the sectional. Regional Ed O'Korn, sophomore, capped off a good season by capturing North's only regional title. Coach Curt Ervin's netmen consisted of four sophomores, John Ringoen, Tyrone Cecil, Paul Hamori,and O'Korn who won the MVP, and three juniors, Frank Voss, Stewart Hults, and co- captain Doug Harris. The only two seniors on the squad were Phil lsen- barger and co-captain Bruce Shepard. Coach Ervin will have six returning lettermen on a squad that ended with an 18-3 record and a sectional championship. The JV's had a good campaign with an 8-2 record. Sports 63
