Three hands are better than two, as Jack Hammerstein assists Steve Lucas with his linoleum block. i' Students Accommodate Themselves 46 Expansion Sharing experiences seems easier when sharing them with people your own age. Through the peer teaching program, over 100 students switch- ed positions with faculty members in the process of instructing fellow classmates through their own past experiences in various areas of study. The program involved the cooperation of both the student in- structors and teachers. Schedules were set up between the two for the conducting of classes, and reports of each day's activities were turned in to Mrs. Kay Rankin, the peer teachers' supervisor. Whether students were instructing or listening to another instruct, peer teaching was another of the many dimensions which had been unex- plored. Working puzzles is one of the activities Kim Robertson does in Playschool located in the Home Economics Department.

Cafeteria Otters Various Views The first thought that comes to mind when the word cafeteria is mentioned is food, but that's not the only thing found in North's cafeteria. Dances and sports banquets fre- quently filled the cafeteria as well as civic groups and organizations from throughout Delaware County. Study halls also played a special role when it came to the cafeteria. Almost every period found juniors and seniors either playing cards, talking, or, once in a while, studying within its walls. 48 Expansion Food, of course, was its most noted function, but even when food was being served, there was always something else happening. Class projects were carried out as students moved from table to table introducing the cause and asking for support. According to the season, even a little music was heard as the senior boys conducted themselves in Christmas carols. All in all, ours was a cafeteria of various activities. Deciding upon what to eat, freshman Chris 1 Conway searches through the windows to in- spect the lunch menu. 5 After finding something to satisfy his mid-day stomach pains, Chris Conway awaits his change and then looks for a table.
