'iam coaxing. A Vorioition in Rounolboll Remembering a new and different experience is easier than remember- ing the ordinary, especially if there are bruises the next day. Bruises there were, and many aching bones, too, as 30 juniors and faculty awakened the morning after a first for the Northside and Muncie community-Donkey Basketball. Approximately 800 attended the game, of which the object was to make a basket with the ball while mounted on the donkey. Other rules were explained, such as when retrieving the ball, the rider must also have hold of the donkey, and if there were any deposits, the rider was responsible for disposing of them. lVlr. David Knisley, appropriately a biology teacher, was the first to man the broom and shovel, drawing rous- ing laughter and applause from the spectators. The spectators also had a part in -I+ .. ,. No matter if you were entering or exiting the building or the parking lot, there proved to be some large obstacle to hurdle. DioIn't With the cold weather came hopes of school closings, and, boy, did they! For the most part of January, schools were closed throughout the country, and the Muncie Community Schools were no exception. As the snow mounted, so did the missed school days, until it was decided to reopen schools toward the end of January. The reopening brought Central Bearcats to Titan Country rather un- willingly, but the situation concer- ning the heating of the Central facilities was resolved and things returned to normal both in and out of schooL The weather reached the 50's in February and the clear skys brought hopes of spring vacation and, boy, . .
