If you have an interest in music, the Northside Music department has a group to satisfy it. Concert Choir and Glee Club were involved in many programs this year. They participated in the musical, My Fair Lady , the annual Christmas sing, the Easter cantata, and gradua- tion. The two vocal groups were directed by Mrs. Doris Faulkner. Mr. Bill Deal directed the in- strumentalists through a busy schedule. The orchestra added a professional touch to the department's musical. The Jazz Ensemble, formerly the Stage Band, presented a jazz con- cert in the fall and participated in nearly all pep sessions. Their lively music was important in raising spirit. S 0 0 p i r it The Northside Marching Band stepped to the beat of new music this year-the beat of Mr. William Deal, that is, in his first year as director of the Band, Stage Band, Orchestra, Titanettes and Flag Corps. Beginning rehearsal during the summer, the Titanettes, Flag Corps, and Band started off the year by par- ticipating in the Ball State University Band Day contests. Finishing in third place, they achieved the highest rating in the school's history. Performances at home games and pep sessions by the band and drill teams were important in raising school spirit throughout the year. is -. .wus ti.
