February 17 was a special day for Latin students and members of Junior Classical League as they celebrated Latin Day. The project began with senior Andy Marsh, state president of the Indiana Junior Classical League, whose idea led to proclamations by Governor Otis Bowen and Mayor Robert Cun- ningham. Besides Latin Day, club activities included the JCL Olympics, a car wash, and formal and informal initiations. Spanish students covered not only language, but also culture in their study of Spanish. An initiation picnic and a Christmas party were a few of the activities enjoyed by the Spanish Club. Latin students take part in an all-day game of Latin bingo as part of the activities involved with the celebration of Latin Day.
