Mr Terry Hitchcock Mr James Metzler Mr Robert Newton Miss Donna Palivec Mrs, Cindy Riegle Gym Classes Offer Change of Pace Where would one find classes that provided the opportunity to swim, play tennis, volleyball, handball, learn to square dance or become a lifeguard? The Northside Physical Education department, of course! All of those and many more were offered to students majoring in physical education or just looking for a chance to add some variety and exercise to their school day. Cheerleading class provided the varsity, reserve, and freshman cheerleaders with time to improve their cheers and work on spirit signs for the hallways. Weight training and conditioning was a popular class for guys wanting to get in shape for one of the Titan athletic teams. Students Julie Johnson and Teresa Maxwell are ready for Miss Donna Palivec to return the ball during a volleyball drill, while Donna Ridley looks on. Compression 115

North and Central German Club members join forces to present their prize-winning skit at the German state convention. 3 Miss Mary Findling Students Expdnd Study Through Trdvel Like to travel? Maybe a French or German class is for you. Both classes expanded their studies far beyond the classroom this year. Sampling foreign foods was a favorite pastime, as third and fourth year students studied French cuisine by preparing two meals. French Club members dined on everything from onion soup to chocolate mousse at 1 Tour restaurant in Indianapolis. German Club members began the year with a Konditorei, a German cafe, at Westside Park to celebrate a city-wide Oktoberfest. A special event of the year was a weekend trip to Ohio, where they toured the Ger- man village in Columbus. The group also enjoyed skiing at Swiss Valley in Jones, Michigan. Combined with Muncie Central's German Club, they won first place for a Sesame Street state skit presented at the German convention at Huntington North High School. gd' . . E S Frohliche Weihnachten! First-year German students Stuart Fike, Brian Engelmann, Brett Nelson, Jenny Davis, Stacy Johnson, and Joyce Smith add finishing touches to Fraulein Findling's Christmas tree. Swiss Valley ski resort provides freshman Inga Miller with the chance to show off her ski- ing form as she takes the tow rope to the top of the slope.
