Records where broken by Nancy Darter in the 200 yard freestyle, Tami Ruemler in the 200 yard l.M. and 100 yard backstroke, and Alice Darter in the 100 yard butterfly and the 500 yard freestyle. Winning the state title in the 100 yard butterfly was Alice Darter, who broke the state record during the qualification round with a time of 1:O1.818, and then went on to win the finals with a time of 1:02.047.
