Danell has done an excellent Job this year as President and Billy 1S always ready to assist her as to correct parliamentary procedure Z - .C Council Progresses One of the many projects of the Coun- cil this year was to bring clothes, toys,and food for the Ella Austin Orphanage. The competition between the Seniors and Fresh- men and the Juniors and Sophomores ended This year a new method of elect ing representatives from the classes was initiated Each s tud ent who wished to be a candidate petitioned for nomination An assembly was then held for the voting by the mem bers of each class Pictured are the candidates of the senior class

At the opemng of school the Student Coun c1l began one of 1ts most lmportant pro Jects for th1s year the plannlng and plantmg of shrubs on the new parkway The Bu1ld1ng and Grounds Comm1ttee made a select1on of varlous trees and shrubs to plant 1n the park way It was headed by W1ll1am Rodgers and the members Kenneth Mayes Dw1ght Bart lett Edd1e Shahady Bob Wenzel Deanna Law son Lee Cl1ne Lmda Pervlcal and Andrea York Later It was voted to dedxcate the two hve oak trees 1n memory of two No r th s 1 d e stu dents D1ane Melgaard and Clarence Kohlleppel A ded1cat1on ceremony was planned and the parents of the two students were mvxted to at tend Danell Wall1s pres1dent of the Student Councll preslded over the ceremony After wards the parents and student body moved out to the parkway and Mr Neff gave aprayer com posed by Carol Conkl1n to complete t e program : . n J .. - , - 1 s 1 ' 1 : 1 . 1 .
