Harvey Marmon, chairman ofthe Key Club Committee of the San Antonio Kiwanis Club, presented Sanford Coon, presi- dent ofthe Northside Key Club, with a check for two hundred dollars that was used toserrd the Key Club menabers to the Texas- Oklahozr i District fflonventirrri in Mineral Wells during April Each znerzrber who was able toattend the convention was invited to do sog the club had thirteen delegates to the convention This was the biggest delegation that the Northside Chapter had ever sent to such a gathering. Training sessions were held for incoming officers: national officers spokeg discussions on the upcoming international convention were heldg and Key Club-ers from Texas and Oklahoma met and exchanged ideas. The Key Club held a banquet at Grey Moss Inn at the close of the school year Guests from the local Kiwanis Clubs attended this gave the visitors a chance to rreet the Key Club members A steak dinner dancing and much conversation filled the eve ning with much enjoyment sponsors vorrecl prolects Johnny Judson Kim Kane Joe Mathis Larry McGlothl1n Jim Morrow ,, Frank Newcomb Ray Rimkus William Rogers Jerry Wallace h The Key Club sponsored many varied prorects the school year An organized drive to raise for an electric scoreboard for the football field was begun The consession stand at the basketball games was run by the Key Club the proceeds went to the scoreboard fund The Key Club purchased equipment for the consession stand so that the spec tators could have a variation of food Northside alumni were asked for donations for the scoreboard The club naturally had high hopes for the future ' 1 'VN 'PY' 5
