'1 snr-F-' The band presented half tlme shows at all of the football games ln order to do th1s they spent many hours 1n preparatron and practlce for the performances They entered the marchrng contest tn December and spent several mghts a week as well as the morntng band perlods tn hard work and ant1c1pat1on of a good ratrng At the close of the football season the band offlcers took the band over and dxd all of the preparat1on w1thout the servxces of Mr Lewts the band dlrector Wlth the help of the pep squad the band presented a show honormg both Mrs Reynolds the Ramblerettes sponsor and Mr LEWIS presents representtngthe gratttude of the members of the two organrzatlons were presented to the sponsors Unfortunately durlng the school year ll was necessary to have tryouts for a new majorette to replace Patrxc1a Lemtng who wxthdrew from school Many hours were spent by the entrants 1n preparatron forthe event there were sex eral very capable entrres Cherry Bacon was vrctorrous she was yery pleased and well compensated for her hard work It was a very btg honor to represent Northslde ln such a way but tt entaxled even much more work after the off1ce had been earned :fiss- at the close of the school year, the ba'1d presented a concert for parents and other mustc lovers They performed and showed to the fullest extent the extreme amount of progress that they had made The Jumor hlgh band and the elementary band performed to the full house too After the concert and a short ruter .lllSSlOfl the band returned to put on a stage show X dance and refreshments followed, everyone that at tended enjoyed the ey emng The band represented Northslde ln several local parades durlng the year Although the weather was not always parade weather the sp1r1ts ofthe band members were never dampened Before each parade there ts always a pertod of wa1t1ng and anttcrpatron Band members are always tlred and hungry after a parade but tt ts an exper1encethat they always look forward The marchmg band attended all ofthe football games They played durxng t1me outs and between quarters as well as assxstmg the pep squad ln many of thelr yells Sports lox ers began to be muslc lovers before the season had ended Although the untforms d1d not arrlve unttl almost half of the season had past, the band nex er mlssed tr game -'Y , , ..M P , , - 3 , V W y an 4 ,, faq, N1 4 :A J AA xml' Q t , I 1 1 it . ,, Q h .1 I V, I ,Q f T T 5 4 ' FQ 3 1 1 3 Q .
