Absent: S. McCarthy. The Northrop field hockey team, captained by Nanette Beckley and Nan Nolan, finished its season with an 0-3 record. All three matches were against SPA Summit School. Despite an unimpressive win--loss record, all of the games were very close. This year's team, which was organized on the afternoon before each game, played fairly well and had a lot of fun. 23

VARSITY Varsity sports were really exciting this year! Both varsity games, field hockey and volleyball, were fights to the finish, with close competition in the spring. Northrop sports have come a long way, and the varsity games typify this growth. Northrop sports are exciting and have been met with lots of enthusiasm. ??.

Although they did not reach their highest expectations, they found many a success. The team had lots of experience and great spirit. Next year will be a challenge, but the rookies will be able to handle it. 24
