Percussion BOTTOM ROW: A. Hyre; T. Stout; L. Lankford; K. Kelley. TOP ROW: H. Johnson; J. Utsinger; J. Damewood. Each year the Band participates in many extra activities. These include marching at all football games, both home and away, the band has an annual band concert in the spring of each year. They march in parades, at the Trapshoots and at the County Fair. To achieve perfection they practice many long and hard hours. This practice starts in the summer and continues through the school year. In coordination with the band there are the North- ridge Majorettes and Polarettes. These girls are chosen after a one week clinic and nerve-wrecking try-outs. They also put in long hours in the summer and during the school year. Also part of the Band Dept. are the Stage and Pep Bands. The Stage Band performs at the annual “Odds and Ends Variety Show. The Pep Band is that swing - ing group which performs and plays at the basketball games. The Pep Band was honored by being asked to play at Hara Arena for the Dayton Gems Hockey Games. They were the only band from all the schools to be asked back so many times. 96
