G.A.A. TENNIS L. -R. , TOP: Karen Helrigle, Shelia Branham, Joyce Webb, Sue Walters, Sharon Moneymaker. L. -R. , BOTTOM: Gloria Sergant, Bev Predmore, Lois Thorpe, Barbara Palmer, Bobbi Owens. This was the first year for the G.A.A. Tennis Team, therefore, they have only played three games. Miss Withrow, their coach, said that there will be a Tennis Team next year. Three matches were scheduled this year. May 8 the team was defeated by Wayne, May 15 they played Wayne again and on May 21 the team played Butler. The singles were Shiela Branham and Gloria Sargent and the doubles were Sharon Moneymaker and Sue Walters. -r-rn, , MISS POLARIS PAT SWOPE Miss Polaris for 1963, Senior Pat Swope, is a petite blonde who is a member of JCOWA, and is Secretary of Northridge High School Honor Society. The candidates for Miss Polaris were Senior Pat Swope, Junior Georgene Powell, Sophomore Joyce Webb, Freshman Sharon Morgan and Eighth Grader Kathy Tomlinson. First, a girl was chosen from each of the grades in the high school. Then, anyone who purchased a subscription for the 1962-63 Polaris yearbook was eligible to vote for anyone of these five girls. Pat Swope won the Miss Polaris for 1963 with 125 votes. 122
