[ ! In this 1963 POLARIS you will find many of the most important activities, events, and people from the 1962-63 school year. The POLARIS staff has attempted to capture these for your en- joyment in future years. We wish to express our deepest gratitude to our Adviser, Mr. Charles Barker, who was always willing to help in time of need. k We have tried our best to present a good year- book for you, the students of Northridge, so that you may look back into its pages in future years with fond memories. Polaris Editor Barbara Knight CjcQiors appreciations As I look back upon my years at Northridge, I can more fully appreciate the value of our yearbooks. They have provided me with many hours of enjoyment. However, being Editor of the Bear Facts I must feel that I publicize the merits of our school paper and its staff. I would like to thank the staff for their co- operation, in producing our papers, and to Mr. Barker, our adviser, I would like to say, thank you for the help you have given us. To the students of Northridge I would like to say, thank you for your support of our paper and always remember that your years at North- ridge are the formative years of your life. . . MAKE THE MOST OF THEM. Bear Facts Editor Rick Bachelor

uperiniendenfs JJiessaoe I cherish the privilege and opportunity to extend cordial greetings to the students of the Northridge High School through the medium of the Polaris. Although we live in an age of new discovery and new scientific advance- ment, youth still faces the same challenges, opportunities, and obstacles that confronted youth of yesteryear. Change is certain and inevitable, and our Nation will need youth and the spirit of youth to spur it onward to meet the changes and challenges of tomor- row. Make the most of every opportunity to learn and to serve. Embody the finest personal characteristics and highest ideas and resolve to be a useful hu- man being. Dedicate your lives to the service of humanity and contribute your talents, whatever they may be, to the welfare of mankind. Sincerely, Charles R. Tarzinski
