I would first like to thank Mrs. Joyce Poe, the Norhian advisor. Mrs. Poe has worked side by side with the staff and me throughout the year. She has contributed not only her great skill of organization, but also many creative ideas and much needed advice. Without her hard work, dedication, enthusiasm, and patience; this annual would be a near-impossible task. Secondly, 1 wish to thank the 1978-79 Norhian staff. Working on an annual is a far from easy job, but these students tackled it with many long hours of work and frustration. From their efforts, one of Northridge's best yearbooks has been published. Last, but not least, 1 would like to thank those people who helped with the Norhian, but are not members of the Norhian staff. Without the support of the faculty, the help of the administration, and the backing of the student body, this Norhian could not be a success. Thanks to all! — Joy Grandstaff Editor 4

NOR THRIDGE SAY ” Now all of you sit down and let me take attendance, and THEN you can go to the library. Does that sound familiar? It has been said to hundreds of students in the past 16 years by Mrs. Edna Dumbauld, who will leave NHS this year. She will be missed. She has done her job well. We of the Norhian staff wish her and Mr. Dumbauld many years of leisure time in the future. Mrs. Florence Hoover will be remembered not only for her dedicated work as the cafeteria supervisor, but also for the bouquets of flowers she placed, on many occasions, in the Northridge office from her personal garden. Mrs. Hoover will retire this year after over 16 years of service. She and Mr. Hoover look forward to traveling in the future. 3
