1 Northridge High School Johnstown, Ohio Volume No. XIII We Dedicate This Book To You Mr. Wren. The 1976 Norhian is dedicated to a man that takes great interest and patience in his students. With the rulers and chalk he brought his students to understanding. Mr. Wren taught Algebra, Geometry, and Advanced Math. He also checked attendance. Mr. Wren's self-discipline and straight forwardness is sometimes mistaken. You can find him in his classes, laughing and telling jokes about his wife. And of course he was never late. The students of Northridge High School appreciated his knowledge and will find the math rooms empty but with memories of Mr. Wren and wish him the best of luck in years to come. 2 Table Of Contents Dedication 3 Administration 5 Seniors 13 Juniors 37 Sophomores 45 Freshmen 53 Fall 61 Winter 79 Spring 89 Organizations 111 Advertising 145 Autographs 165 In Memory Of Mr. And Mrs. Droke It is said that your high school days are the best time of your life. These days cannot be made without certain people con- tributing to them in order for them to become the students' best days. We the students will remember the great contribution that Mr. Droke, known to us all as Granny” and his wife as one of the cooks gave to us in their years at Northridge. We were fortunate to have two great people like them in our memories at Northridge High School. Sincerely, Northridge Students Administration-Faculty Tyler Smith The Northridge graduate can be proud of many things. You have gained much knowledge and developed many skills during your school years. You are now prepared to go into society and be a contributing citizen. I have observed a certain dedication in our students in most projects they undertake. You are to be complimented for this attitude. You must now be willing to apply your skills and further your knowledge for the benefit of yourself and those around you. Jacob Froning We live in a time of accelerated change. Only the perspective of time will permit us to ac- curately access the significance of these changes in our society. The Class of 1976 enters our changing society during a period of both celebration and disenchantment. It is our fervent hope that the graduates of 1976 fully recognize both the individual rights granted by our Constitution and, equally as important, the concomitant duties and responsibilities of citizenship. We trust that each graduate will be a positive force in the further development of our society toward the noble goals of our forefathers. James Congrove The class of 1976 enjoys the distinction of be- ing the Bicentennial class of Northridge High School. Accept the challenges thrust upon you by History. Many view 1976 as a kind of new beginning or rebirth opportunity for America. Get into the excitement, enthusiasm, and spirit of the time. Be a positive contributor to the future of your community, state, and nation. Good luck and best wishes. 6 SEATED: Mr. VanFossen, Mr. Parsons, Mrs. Everett. STANDING: Mr. Wells and Mr. Dudgeon LEFT: Mrs. King, Clerk Northridge students have many advantages which can be at- tributed to the good homes and communities in which you live. Vour schools are endeavoring to prepare you for life as a future resident of this, or some other, community. In previous years, Northridge graduates have attained a reasonable degree of success in this regard. It is our desire to continue to provide educational opportunities that will meet your needs through our nations changing times. Northridge Board of Education 7 Mrs. Beever. Secretary Mrs. Frawley. TOP: Bruce Lodge This year, for the first time in history, the Northridge SAGA was printed professionally by an offset printing company. This professional printing gave the SAGA a brand new look with clearer copy, sharper pictures, and improved clarity. In honor of the Bicentennial, we utilized the color capabilities of offset printing with a red, white, and blue masthead. We have worked hard to bring Northridge complete, accurate coverage of news and sports and entertaining features and in-depth stories. We will continue to do so in the years to come. The SAGA is a member of Quill and Scroll, the International Society for High School Journalists and the High School Press Club of Central Ohio. Quill and Scroll members initiated this year were Duane Edgington, news editor; Laura Minor, reporter; and Jack Black, reporter. 145 Norhian Staff KNEELING: Chris Bonner. Cindy Ratcliff. Judi Neal.
