NORTHRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL JOHNSTOWN, OHIO VOLUME NO. XII Contents Dedication Administration Seniors Juniors Sophomores Freshmen Winter Spring Organizations Advertising Autographs Mr. Spears The 1975 Norhian is dedicated to Mr. Dan Spears as a small token of our appreciation for the interest he takes in iis students and his patience in trying to help them unders- tand. Mr. Spears teaches physics, chemistry, and general and oractical fhath. He is also the track coach and assistant football coach. Mr. Spears was named 1975 Outstanding Teacher of the ear by the students at Northridge High School. His helpful attitude was appreciated by everyone. There goes all your brownie points! You can always depend on Shaun for an intelligent answer ' It s not too often I get to eat on the job The year of 1975 was prosperous with many outstanding achievements - but 1975 also had its share of valuable losses. Mrs. Inez McNemar, librarian and English teacher, decided to retire after 20 rewarding years in the teaching profession. She came to Northridge in 1963, but had taught in local schools previously. Her service and con- tributions will be greatly missed at Northridge. Another major loss is also one of great importance. Granville Droke, known to all of us as Granny, left to en- joy a well deserved retirement. As janitor, he spent 10 years with us, keeping things clean and in order. We, the Norhian staff, would like to thank both Mr. Bell and Mr. Congrove for their significant contributions to Northridge High School. After three rewarding years at Northridge Mr. Bell has also announced his intention to retire. Mr. Congrove, who has been with the district for 15 years and held the position as high school principal for 10 years, is moving to the position of district principal and administrative assistant. We would like to thank all these people for their dedication to Northridge and for their part in making it one of the best schools in the county. Good luck and best wishes to all of you, and as Mrs. McNemar would say, “Many lives are left for you to live. The Norhian Staff A Superintendent Mr. Samuel Bell I have enjoyed you and your school district these past three years. You have something unique and special at Northridge: friendships, a beautiful building, good teaching, and much good learning taking place. Take with you your education, your memories, your respect for the rights of others, and your knowledge of the democratic way of life and build a better and brighter future for us all. Principal Mr. James Congrove As I write these words for the Norhian for the tenth and final time as Principal, I find myself rambling through many memories of the years past. Most are fond memories, some not so fond, many humorous. We as a nation have managed to find our way through the troubled sixties and are now mid-way through what someday may be called the discouraging seventies. Northridge has shared in these difficult times, but like our nation, has and will continue to thrive. In my opi- nion Northridge secured and has maintained its rank- ing as the best school in Licking County. I am proud of the many outstanding contributions of Northridge graduates, students and faculty. Best wishes to all Vikings. 6 Northridge Board Of Education SEATED: Mr. Hankinson, Mr. Parsons; President. Mr. Rogge; Vice-President. STAN- DING: Mr. Van Fossen. Mr. Dudgeon. LEFT: Mrs. King; Clerk.
