Our library carries through the long, close to the ground style of architecture 5 X E yi c fel FUREWURD 1 Within this book the story of the Class of 1960 is told. Events of the past years have been recorded in photographs and under each senior's picture is a list of the activities in which he has participated while in high school. These seniors will now leave Northport High School forever. Some will go on to higher edu- cation, some will marry, and others will go directly into the world of business. We hope that we have captured some of the spirit of Northport High School within these pages 'and that this record will bring back memories of fruitful high school years. an gefoaecl To the members of the Class of l96O the dedlca fron of a yearbook rs a very serrous and meamngful task Much thoughtful consrderatnon has been d son among the many who have glven so freely of their time and talent to help our class We feel that the person who best represents the qualities which we so admire and respect IS Mr Joseph Latlno ln dedicating our yearbook to hum we wish to express our deep oppreclatlon for hrs many efforts In our behalf Mr Latinos srncerrty and sense of humor have been an rnsprratuon not only to those rn has mathe matucs classes but to the entire student body H invaluable to us Mr Latino has taught us much more than we could ever learn from books he has helped us to under stand the true meanrng of education through hrs own fine example We dedrcate our yearbook to hum therefore with the hope that rt may at least partially express our gratrtude for all that he has given us l Y 0 1 - ' ' S' ' ' . is voted TO The SeleCfl0n Ol The most OUf5lGndln9 Per' friendly guidance and willingness to help have been 7 w. They didn't win the flag. Their material was not wholly championship. But, under Head Coach John Stump, the Tigers played some exciting and inspired basketball. but we like teams here the ball, a who knows, True, the record is not world-shattering, to think of it as a trend toward winning at Northport, A few different bounces of few referees' whistles the other way, and your Tigers might have come just a little closer than they did to Ist place. Tom Roesch, the man who played the actual pivot most of the year, managed to grab quite a few offensive rebounds and stash them away for a Tiger basket, and also lead the team in foul shooting. Bob Rotella and Jim Far- abaugh proved to be capable mainstays for the Tiger team. Buddy Becker did an outstanding iob as play- maker, and Jim Campbell and Joe Hughes were strong Hll-ins.
