orthmont Students Work At JVS Donna McCray arranges Jackie Deniham's hair in Cosmetology. W The JVS is a place that the students who have spent l their last two high school years there are grateful for i and are quick to praise. Without such an intensive program of vocational education for the county, stu- dents would be set back a few years in training and experience, and lose the jobs available at the time they graduated from regular high school. The stu- dents are very aware of the differences from regular high school, like a stronger rules system, dress code, discipline and supervision. This is to get the student used to on-the-job conditions, where he or she will be on their own for most of their working years. The student at the JVS is treated as an individual, to plan out his own life and career ahead. Af M Marty Luoma and Susan Wolf practice on wigs.
