The Student Council float in Homecoming parade passes in front of stands. The Student Council abolished itself this year, realizing a need for a change in struc- ture and ideas to adapt to the student body today. They will draw up a new constitution and a new name, with none of the old stig- mas attached, hoping for a new era of useful- ness toward the students at Northmont. Earlier this year they put on the traditional Homecoming Dance and parade, decorated the cafeteria, had a book sale, looked into the dress code and the possiblity of an activ- ity period. This year Kitty DeWeese was president. The walls of the cafeteria were painted, carpeting and a iukebox put in and a school seal ordered to make the lunchroom more inviting.
