ln The, Beginning . . . And End ln the beginning there was a yearbook staff. After all the meetings, workshops, fights and Connie's little pep talks, it finally looks as if this yearbook will be finished. No Yearbook, of course, is exactly the way an editor ever wants it, but this one comes mightly close. The staff and I had rough time with the yearbook and each other and at times, lmost of the timel, the book was a pain in the neck . The thing that kept us going was you, the student body. Anyone knowing that 1,200 kids COULD BE on our trail if a yearbook wasn't finished, would have kept going. To tell you the truth, the yearbook wasn't even half finished until three days before the final deadline. With the help of almost 5 hours of sleep andfor none, 40 some packs of gum, and Star Trek, we managed through five days and four nights of getting some 170 pages done. And it's done! In the end there was an animal farm. The Last Thoughts Cf The Staff Listen my Juniors and you shall hear Of the perilous time we had this year Trying to finish a late yearbook Sweating so hard to get oft the hook All those pages that weren't done Meant hours and hours of minimal fun Triplicates swam before our eyes As all our youthful energy died Visions of awful white blank pages How we could see the school's rages lf we failed to give 'em what they wanted Envisioning ourselves as victims hunted Because their football team Was printed without a muddy scene Of men clashing over a ball Or grinning fools in the hall Flexing their plexus with no shame This is called the yearbook game To Nancy we leave our deep compassion Hoping to spare her our purple passion When our dear photographers failed to give What we needed in order to live Pictures!! Pictures rang in our heads How the 'hell' finish a two page spread With one lousy blurry shot So sorry folks that's all we got! Let us not forget the Spirit For that poor group let's hear it! Little sales and littler money Miserable Spring Flings weren't funny Our hearts go out to Carolyn To wrong that woman was a sin Yes it's true and we admit it We ran off 9th period to mostly visit The 'ole D.O. or yummy Cassanos Flirting and laughing with handsome young mano-s instead of cropping, writing, reporting We'd try to find the sure way of aborting Those white cut slips we'd somehow find Plotting and scheming and straining our minds So Babs and Tess and Fancy and Bill Melba and Xa and Ol Ricky Dill Timmy and Balch and Lobo and Jew Greek and Gillesbie to name a few Spirky and Junie and creative Mike Phalanges and Fruitcake to love and to like Connie and Sheldon and Barney and Fred Theall and Schearer were red on the head Staggs and Colleen and Lizzie Meade Pat, Alfi, mono and peppermint weed Birthday parties in 209-A So this is how they spent their days! Of the Bolt Staff's remains we give to you All the copy and layouts you'll have to do And all the fun we were glad to have had Take the good times with the bad Sometime think of us way above From the Bolt Staff with very much love.
