Get With It In Health The Health classes this year studied the traditional subjects such as: How Man Has Fought Diseaseg How the Community Protects Health: Affects of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Drugs on the Body and How the Body Works. Classes were conducted by Mr. Booher and Miss Newcomb. . Physical Education at Northmont High School is an integral part of school curriculum. To develop a stronger program, several changes were implemented to move away from traditional approaches. The activities were organized to provide a great opportunity for stu- dents to achieve a greater degree of self-realization and to include an understanding of what is involved in the movement. The result, is learning in the cognitive active as well as psychomotor domain. The entire Phys. Ed. program is wed, in the co-ed program. The range of skill in each class is increased, to meet the individual needs of students contracts were developed for many of the units. The contracts are to provide and to insure progression. Students pro- gress through respective contracts at their own rate as fun as skill and development allow. This enables highly skilled students to pro- gress rapidly and removes pressure from other students to progress beyond capabilities. The students are given the opportunity to select activities they want to participate in. These activities cover a wide range from touch football to golf. K. Miss Newcomb laughs with her health class.
