-'S -snr-fi-+4 The Big Three Mr. Fasick and Jim Chin talk things over . . . Mr. Johnston feels the split sessions are a success. lVlr. Johnston, the principal, Mr. Fasick, the assistant principal, and Mr. DiRocco, the administration as- sistant, have some strong views con- cerning Northmont. When asked if they considered the split sessions a success, their reply was, For our purpose, yes, it is the only thing we can do right now in order to meet the state requirements. They ad- mitted that they were a little sur- prised at the success of the split schedule, saying, actuaIly, it turn- ed out better than we expected it to. The administration realizes the disadvantages of the split sessions. After-school jobs, and extracurricu- lar activities are restricted because of the schedule. Their views on the smoking situation were in one sen- tence: As long as the board ruling stands, there is nothing that can be done about it. There is one maior thing that they would like to change at Northmont, and that is to get back to a normal school day, and as soon as possible. It will make everyone, especially students and parents, happy when we get back to a normal schedule. The fact was brought up that for extra- curricular activities, there would be better facilities for them on a reg- ular schedule. School is to get an education, and the students need to respect this. They feel that academ- ically, with the students being able to choose their courses, Northmont is great! Mr. DiRocco and Tim Flotterman, . . . no generation gap there!
