VIKES FALL TO RIDGE The football Vikings at Northland went into their heavy football schedule as the defending City League Champions, a tradition that they aimed to keep! With a long list of returning seniors the Vikings had a capable and experienced squad. After some disappointing non- league games, Northland's team, under Coach Frank Howe, came back to remain undefeated in league play, having a mere 22 points scored by opponents in six games. Northland and Walnut Ridge again went into the Championship battle between the North and the South. Our team, seek- ing a second crown, their team, seek- ing revenge. The Vikings put up a tre- mendous fight but were overcome by a score of 21 -1 4. 58 I . mg , jg',,,,'iCJlI 9 .I li, I. 4 5 .
