Language Department Amid a term of active programs, both academic and extracurricu- lar, the division of Foreign Language studies was headed by an expe- rienced staff this year. With department chairman and Latin teacher Carolyn White, the program's faculty consists of Mrs, Helga Muladore, Germang Miss Linda Whittington, Russiang Miss jackie McNeil, French, with Span- ish instruction shared between Miss Linda I-Ioaja and Mrs. Edith Wolfe. The Latin program was highlighted with the conception of a new projected studies provision, entitled Advanced Placement. It provided for study of the language in advanced of the fourth and fifth years. Ma th Department Northland's math department headed by Mr. Huber, did not change its Curriculum much from last year. The math topics course was offered and added a new class in slide rule. Mr. Smeltz tried out a new method of open classroomv teaching for geometry students this year, which gave the student a chance to work at his own pace and on his own level.
