They had an undefeated record in all duel and triangular meet competition . The team was captained by three seniors, Irv Brown, Elliot Drumright, and Bill Cole. Irv won district titles in the 100 yard dash, the 220 yard dash, the 440 yard run, and ran onthe championship mile relay. He also set school records in all three individual events, and placed in all three at the state meet. Bill Cole set a school record in the 880 yard run and placed second and third respectively in the district and state meets . Elliot also set two2newI school records in the mile and 2-mile runs, and was second in the district in the -mi e . Hopes for next year are good with many quality juniors returning and a sophomore team that had a perfect season winning every meet they were in . 106

Scott Broda In 1972 a new gymnastics team of sophomores set several goals . This team, with the closing of the 1974 season, has reached every single one of those goals, including three straight winning seasons against the toughest competition possible, and contention for the state title in 1974 . The highlight of this season was a second place finish in the district. In this meet, Northglenn qualified every single competitor for the finals and qualified fifteen individuals and the team for the state meet. ln state, Northglenn finished ninth overall. Individually, Greg Forney finished third in vaulting while Jeff Thornton finished fifth . This season saw the breaking of every record in the sport, including high team score, high all around and high scores in all six events. 108
