After six weeks of practicing dili- gently, memorizing lines, and creat- ing an effective set, the cast and crew of The Diary of Anne Frank presented their talents November 16 and 17. The story centered around the Franks and VanDaans. two Jewish families hiding from the Nazis dur- ing World War II. Anne Frank, the lead character, kept a diary which revealed her thoughts and problems of living in confinement for two years. From this diary the play was written. Besides overcoming the usual jit- ters the cast and crew members of this play found new barriers to over- come, such as: learning to make a complete costume change in about 45 seconds, putting up with two cats in the dressing room, or arriving five minutes before curtain time on opening night after driving into the ditch. Left: The Franks and Van Daans listen in- tently as Mr. Frank reads the Hannukah prayer. Above; Anna welcomes Mr. Dussel (Pat Breedlovo) to their hide-out.
